Spotlighting the amazing work Soapbox is doing to deliver hand sanitizer and bars of soap to the most vulnerable among us amidst the coronavirus health crisis has been truly rewarding. Secured feature stories in outlets across a wide array of broadcast, radio and print media for a small, purpose-driven company with a big heart including Business Insider, Washingtonian, Yahoo! Finance, WTOP, WJLA, WUSA, The Washington Post, Forbes, Authority Magazine and a local donation story with Feed the Children that aired on PBS in Pennsylvania.

Women's Forum of New York

Worked with The Women’s Forum of New York, Janice Ellig/CEO of The Ellig Group and CEOs from Fortune 500 companies to raise awareness about the importance of gender parity on corporate boards, the promotion rates of women and getting more women on the CEO track. Secured media coverage leading up to and on the day of The Women’s Forum of New York’s signature event “The Breakfast of Corporate Champions” including The Wall Street Journal, NBC News, Yahoo! Finance, Bloomberg, Crain’s New York Business, Arianna Huffington’s THRIVE Global, Forbes, The Financial Times and MarketWatch among others.

Caroline Carter, Author

Garnered publicity for entrepreneur and first-time author Caroline Carter on the launch of her book “Smart Moves: How to Save Time and Money While Transitioning Your Home.” Provided comments on book, developed key messages and impactful media pitches, and materials for media including press release, advisories, bio and fact sheet. Secured several articles in The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, ABC/WJLA’s Good Morning Washington, The Georgetown Dish and WTOP.

Marquette University

As part of a team engaged by the university, my role is to spotlight the work President Dr. Michael Lovell is doing around trauma/mental health, the role of a Catholic university in today’s world, the challenges facing higher education and how his faith informs his leadership.

I have secured interviews and coverage spotlighting Dr. Lovell as a social impact hero both on the campus of Marquette and in Milwaukee in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, The New York Times, The Washington Times, Health Gig podcast, AMDG podcast, Commonweal, Busted Halo, The Washington Post, America, SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel Cardinal Dolan Show, THRIVE Global and many others.

Academy of Hope

Helped position Academy of Hope as a thought leader of adult education best practices and elevated awareness of their efforts to educate adults with low-literacy skills. Helped develop messaging that clearly communicated how the school empowers individuals to break the cycle of poverty, narrow the skills gap and improve society as a whole. Secured interviews with ABC/WJLA’s Spotlight on Education, WUSA9, Watchdog.com, The Washington Informer and AFRO.

Verizon Wireless

Worked with Verizon Wireless on their nationwide educational initiative that challenged middle and high school students to develop mobile app concepts that address issues in their school or community. My efforts elevated the importance of STEM and teaching students how to think about and confront real-world problems by generating top-tier media coverage in The Washington Post’s KidsPost, Education Week, ABC News, WTOP , and The Baltimore Sun. Also conducted media tours to showcase how Verizon Wireless’ donation of mobile technology helps students in underserved schools improve academic achievement and conquer the college admission process. Generated dozens of placements, including the top morning live shot on the Baltimore ABC affiliate and on WAMU.

Additional Clients

As part of a consulting team, helped position many companies, non-profits and associations as industry thought leaders and amplified their missions and brands through national media coverage, awards and speaking opportunities. Brought on as a consultant for JBG Smith, Junior Achievement, Society of American Florists, In Case of Crisis, Men Can Stop Rape, Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine, Insured Retirement Institute, International Housewares Association, American Telemedicine Association among others.
